Private urologist
near Harley Street
Mr Denosshan Sri sees patients at Welbeck — one of London's leading diagnostic and day-case facilities, less than 100 metres from the Harley Street medical corridor. Rapid access to prostate cancer pathways, haematuria assessment, same-day imaging, and flexible cystoscopy — from an initial consultation through to a confirmed clinical plan.
Welbeck — advanced diagnostics and day-case urology in the heart of Central London
Welbeck at 1 Welbeck Street is purpose-built for rapid assessment and minimally invasive day-case procedures. On-site same-day MRI, walk-in CT, ultrasound, and cystoscopy mean the pathway from consultation to diagnosis can happen in a single visit — without waiting for outside referrals or separate imaging appointments.
Specialist diagnostic pathways —
fast, accurate, and complete
Welbeck's infrastructure makes it an exceptional setting for time-critical diagnostic work. The consultations I run here are built around getting to a clear answer as efficiently as possible.
Prostate cancer diagnostic pathway
From a raised or borderline PSA to a confirmed clinical picture. I run a structured prostate assessment pathway at Welbeck that brings together specialist review, PSA interpretation, and rapid access to on-site multiparametric MRI — before any biopsy decision is made.
- Initial PSA review and clinical examination
- Age-adjusted interpretation and PSA density calculation
- Same-day multiparametric MRI referral on-site
- Targeted transperineal biopsy where indicated (day case)
- Full results discussion and treatment plan
Haematuria assessment pathway
Visible or microscopic blood in the urine should always be investigated — even if it resolves on its own. At Welbeck I can coordinate the complete haematuria investigation in a single coordinated visit, with cystoscopy performed on-site.
- Urine tests, urine cytology, and blood tests
- Flexible cystoscopy — thin camera, local anaesthetic, 15 minutes
- CT urogram referral where indicated (on-site imaging)
- Upper tract assessment including kidney and ureter
- Timely results and management plan
Kidney cancer and renal mass assessment
For incidentally discovered kidney lesions, rising concern on imaging, or a confirmed kidney tumour — I offer specialist review, Bosniak classification of complex cysts, and second opinion consultations including for cases declined elsewhere for kidney-preserving surgery.
- Review of existing imaging with clinical context
- Bosniak classification of complex cystic lesions
- CT and MRI referral on-site for further characterisation
- Surgical planning for partial or radical nephrectomy
- Second opinion referrals accepted at all tumour stages
General urology and day-case procedures
Beyond cancer pathways, I see patients for the full spectrum of urological conditions — prostate enlargement, urinary symptoms, recurrent UTIs, vasectomy, and urological follow-up. Many assessments and minor procedures can be completed as day cases at Welbeck without overnight admission.
- Prostate enlargement (BPH) — assessment and treatment options
- Lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS)
- Recurrent urinary tract infections
- Vasectomy (day case, local anaesthetic)
- Urological follow-up and surveillance
What to expect at your first visit
Welbeck's infrastructure is designed to compress the time from uncertainty to diagnosis. A first appointment with me here typically achieves more in one visit than most multi-week referral pathways.
Consultation
A thorough clinical history, examination, and review of any previous results or imaging. I explain what the findings mean in plain language, what further tests are needed, and why — before anything is arranged.
Same-day diagnostics
Welbeck has on-site MRI (including multiparametric prostate MRI), CT, ultrasound, and cystoscopy. In many cases, key investigations can be completed on the same day as your initial consultation rather than requiring a separate visit.
A clear plan
You leave with a clear clinical picture, an explanation of any findings, and a specific management plan — whether that is reassurance and monitoring, further investigation, day-case treatment, or referral for major surgery at my other private sites.
Day-case procedures
Flexible cystoscopy, transperineal prostate biopsy, vasectomy, and selected minor urological procedures are available as day cases at Welbeck — no overnight admission required. Most patients return home within a few hours.
Surgical referral when needed
When major surgery is required — robotic prostatectomy, robotic partial nephrectomy, or other complex operations — I operate at other specialist surgical sites. Welbeck serves as the diagnostic and pre-operative hub.
No GP referral required
You can book directly at Welbeck. Self-pay, all major insurers, and insurer pre-authorisation are all accepted. My secretary team (Chloe & Bradley Barker) can assist with insurance queries before your appointment.
Diagnostic clarity — followed by definitive surgical care when you need it
Welbeck excels at what it is built for: rapid, precise, expert-led diagnosis and day-case intervention. When cancer is confirmed and surgery is the right treatment, I provide that care at dedicated surgical sites — including The Princess Grace Hospital.
My robotic surgical practice centres on renal and pelvic surgery, with a particular expertise in nerve sparing robotic radical prostatectomy for prostate cancer and robotic partial nephrectomy for kidney cancer (where I use the retroperitoneal approach as my default). Robotic surgery is performed in high-volume specialist environments under dedicated anaesthetic and surgical teams.
Consultant urological surgeon — specialist in prostate and kidney cancer
Mr Denosshan Sri MA Cantab MB BChir FRCS Urol is a Consultant Urological Surgeon whose NHS base is St George's University Hospital, where he holds appointments as Kidney Cancer Lead for the South West London referral network and as Lead for the Royal College of Surgeons accredited Robotic Surgery Fellowship.
His private practice spans diagnostic and complex surgical work across four London locations. At Welbeck specifically, the emphasis is on the diagnostic and assessment pathway — using the facility's outstanding imaging and day-case infrastructure to move patients from a raised PSA, abnormal scan, or blood in the urine to a confirmed clinical picture as efficiently as possible.
